Dining

Sunday, February 12, 2012 @ Buffalo Winterfest

The Mark Twain Buffalo Winterfest Chili Cook-off, based on a scene from the 2003 Jim Carey movie Bruce Almighty, encourages homecooks to submit their favorite chili recipe for consideration. Of the submitted recipes, six have been chosen to compete, live, at the upcoming Buffalo Winterfest.

Unlike other chili contests, this one seeks the best, tastiest, most creative chilis without placing limitations on the chefs or their ingredients!

The theme for our annual Local Restaurant Week is "Our Restaurants, Our Culture."

Western New York offers many cultural signposts, but none are more embraced and cherished than local, independent restaurants. These restaurants come to the forefront October 4th - 10th, offering incredible dining deals for $20.10, and provide a showcase for our regional identity.

The 2011 Taste of Buffalo presented by TOPS will be held on July 9th and 10th.

Over 50 restaurants, 6 wineries and 450,000 invited guests gathered in downtown Buffalo to enjoy "fun by the forkful." One of the region's signature events, the Taste of Buffalo presented by TOPS is the largest two-day food festival in the United States.

Sorrento Cheese Buffalo Italian Heritage Festival - July 14-17, 2011 is more than just great food but also live music and rides for kids. Held in Buffalo's "Little Italy" along Hertel Avenue between Delaware and Colvin Avenues, this is the second largest italian festival in the U.S. in terms of attendance. About half a million people attend over the four days.
