Join RestoreCorps
Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPER's new habitat restoration program, RestoreCorps, leads volunteers to rehabilitate riparian areas within the Buffalo-Niagara watershed. With a major focus on implementing green infrastructure and recreating forest buffers, RestoreCorps helps restore and install desirable natural habitat. We will remove invasive vegetation, improve soil quality, and plant an array of native trees, shrubs, and grasses. These modifications are crucial for a stable ecosystem, and are intended to reduce the amount of pollution entering our regional waterways. With help from dedicated volunteers, RestoreCorps will lay the foundation for a clean and sustainable environment, which in turn allows for local populations to once again safely use local waterways for recreational purposes.
RestoreCorps volunteers get involved in the community, work with fellow conservationists, broaden their resume, and make a lasting contribution to one of our region's greatest natural resources, our water. RestoreCorps volunteers come in all ages, sizes, and levels of experience. Our skilled coordinators help find appropriate tasks for all volunteers to be engaged in. Believe in Buffalo, join RestoreCorps. If you would like to join, or have any questions, please contact Bryan LoVullo blovullo@bnriverkeeper.org or (716) 852-7483, x 23.
